How can I get pre-approved for a car loan?

Does Bayer offer in-house financing? 

Bayer does not personally offer in-house financing. There is the option to finance through Ford or GM
and you may also qualify for rebates through them. You may also use your financial institution or bank
for a traditional car loan.

How do I figure the amount for tax, title, and license?

The tax rate in Texas is 6.25%. The tax is calculated on the sale price of the car less any non-
leased trade-in. The title fee is $33.00. The registration fees vary based on the car’s model
year.

How does my credit rating affect the purchase of a vehicle?

Part of the service our sales associates provide is an assessment of your credit. Sometimes a customer
may believe his or her credit rating is not good enough for the purchase of a new vehicle, when, in fact,
it may be just fine.

How much do you require for a down payment?

Typically, a down payment is not required. However, any down payment used will lower the
monthly payment.

How long can I finance my car?

The maximum that you can finance a vehicle can vary depending on year model, up to 84
months.

When will my first payment be due?

On a purchase, the first payment will be due 30 to 45 days after signing. On a lease, you will
make your first payment at the time of signing.

Do you have a first-time buyer program?

Most of our lenders have a college graduate program. Some stipulations will apply. This could
qualify you for preferred finance rates.

What is GAP Insurance?

You may be surprised to learn that the value your primary insurance company places on your
vehicle may be substantially less than the amount you owe. The result is a financial “gap,” and
if the vehicle is totaled or stolen, it’s you who must make up the difference. GAP (Guaranteed
Auto Protection) insurance will pay the difference between the loan balance and what your
insurance company pays you. GAP insurance will go into effect if the vehicle is declared a
total loss.

When and how can I purchase a vehicle service agreement?

Generally, vehicle service agreements are sold before the manufacturer’s factory warranty
expires. You may talk to any sales associate or service advisor in the dealership at any time to
learn about or purchase a service agreement .

Do you offer extended service agreements?

Yes, and with an important advantage: Most of our extended service agreements are backed
by the manufacturer. Service agreement details, including terms and mileage limits, vary
between new and pre-owned vehicles.

What does a warranty typically include?

Bumper to bumper warranties can include all major vehicle systems, air conditioning and
heating, electrical components, steering, safety features, and high-tech systems.

What is the longest I can keep a vehicle under warranty?

It depends on how many miles you drive a year, but it can go up to 10 years or 150,000 miles.

How long is my vehicle covered under roadside assistance?

New vehicles are covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles and certified pre-owned vehicles are covered for 8
years or 100,000 miles from the time it was purchased new.

Are the vehicle prices negotiable?

We do negotiate prices on some vehicles. You can negotiate used car prices; new vehicle prices are as is
since some people may qualify for rebates.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?

Bayer does not offer a money back guarantee that’s why we allow potential customers to test drive
vehicles to make sure they like them before they buy it.

How important is vehicle maintenance?

Having your vehicle maintained on a regular basis will help to keep it running beautifully for many years
to come. Our service centers are available to get you on a regular maintenance schedule for oil
changes and checkups, but we also can set you up with any of the major repairs that you may need in
the future.

Do I need to schedule an appointment for general maintenance such as an oil change, tire
rotation?

You don’t need one, but we know how much you value your time. Scheduling an appointment will give
you the benefit of servicing your car on your schedule. While we can change your oil on a whim, we
can’t guarantee you’ll be serviced on the spot.

Are loaner vehicles free if I am having my car fixed by Bayer?

Yes, if we have a loaner vehicle available, we will provide you with one.

How long will my vehicle’s brake pads last?

A few factors play into this – namely, driving habits, brake type, and transmission type. Disk pads last
around 50,000 – 60,000 miles, while drum brakes top out around 40,000 miles.

How often should I get an oil change?

A driver should get an oil change every 3,000 to 7,000 miles or every three months. However, you can
always refer to your owner’s manual which covers the recommended oil change interval for your
specific make and model.

What is included in the multipoint inspection?

Chassis components, Seat belts and restraints, Battery health, Exhaust components, Steering
components, Air filters, Belts and hoses, Shocks and struts, Engine cooling, Drive axle, Transmission, and Engine fuel system, Windshield washer fluid, Power steering, Fluid Coolant, Transmission fluid, Brake
fluid and Engine oil.

Do I have to have my maintenance done at Bayer?

Although we recommend having your maintenance done here at Bayer , you are free to take your
vehicle anywhere you choose. Service after the sale is one of the areas, we here at Bayer Motors pride
ourselves in so we encourage our customers to bring their vehicles to our Service Departments so our
highly trained technicians can take the best possible care of you. After all, who knows your vehicle
better than the dealership that sold it to you.

Do you have to schedule an appointment with a salesman?

We take walk in customers as well as scheduled appointments with your preferred salesmen.

Do you sell vehicles other than the Chevys and Fords?

Yes, we sell Buicks, Chryslers, Jeeps, Rams, GMC, and a few miscellaneous vehicles.

Can a salesman from the Ford store sell me a vehicle that is on the Chevy lot or vice versa?

Yes, if you just let your salesman know what kind of vehicle you are looking for, he can help you find the
perfect one.

What is the difference between used and certified pre-owned?

We have used vehicles and certified pre-owned vehicles, with the CPO vehicles going through a tough,
certified inspection process as well as a guarantee straight from the manufacturer. CPO vehicles are less
than three years old and less than 80K miles. With our used inventory, you will always find gently used
options in a variety of makes, models, and years.

How should I prepare when buying a new car?

We like for customers to have an idea of what kind of vehicle they like, and a good idea of the payments
you can afford if you aren’t paying the cash total in full.

What information should I bring when I buy a car?

Your salesman will have you fill out a credit application if you aren’t paying in cash and will request a
copy of your driver’s license.

How do I check the availability of a vehicle on your website?

When you open our website, there is an option to chat with one of our online sales personnel and they
can get the information you need.

Why is test driving a vehicle important?

You can window shop our entire car inventory online or in person. However, it is recommended that
you test drive the new Ford Edge or see what the Ford F-150 has to offer in person. During the test
drive, you will experience handling, the braking system, how the infotainment works and so much more
to give you a better idea of the overall vehicle.

How long can I keep a vehicle to test drive it?

We don’t like for customers to put a lot of miles on the vehicle, so we encourage them to drive it just
enough to decide whether they like it or not.

Are auto history reports provided before I purchase the vehicle?

Yes, your salesman will let you know how many people owned the vehicle before you buy it and how
many times it has been reported in a wreck.

Can you only choose a car that is on the lot?

If we do not have the exact vehicle you are looking for, we can look around and see if we can’t get one
on our lot for you.

Can I buy a demo vehicle?

If you are looking for a used vehicle that’s almost new, a dealer demonstrator — or demo, new vehicles

Do I have to be there in person to buy a car?

No, we here at Bayer Motor strive to provide the very best customer service possible. While we prefer
to meet our customers face to face, we can work an entire car deal over the phone and deliver the
vehicle to you. We deliver all vehicles for free that are within a 200-mile radius of Bayer. Anything
further than that is charged a fee per mile.

Will Bayer take my existing car as a trade-in? 

If you currently own a car or truck and want to get rid of it, we accept any qualified vehicle as a trade-in.
Not only does this help pay for your potential vehicle, it also saves you the hassle of trying to sell your
existing vehicle on your own.

How are trade-in values determined?

Trade-in vehicles are determined by the year and miles and then any additional damages to the vehicle.

Can you have accessories added to the vehicle when you buy it?

Yes, we can install accessories of your choice here at Bayer by a trained technician and the cost of the
accessories will be added to the total price of the vehicle.

How often does Bayer have cars on sale?

When does my registration come in?

It can take up to a month and sometimes less for your tags and registration to come in.

Is the vehicle inspected before you purchase the car?

Yes, every vehicle is inspected when we receive it and before we release it to the buyer.

Does Bayer have someone to show me how to use the newer technology when I purchase my
car?

We have a designated staff member at each dealership who can assist you with that. Just let your
salesman know you will need help getting that set up and he/she will get you introduced to our
Onstar/Ford Pass reps.
